The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) division is tasked with fostering revenue, adoption, and expansion among a diverse range of clients, from small and mid-sized enterprises to large-scale organizations, including those in the public sector. This multifaceted team is dedicated to developing and maintaining products and applications for AWS sales teams while managing a vast infrastructure of both first-party and third-party platforms.

The AFX (AWS Field Experience) team within SMGS is in search of a dedicated and innovative Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM). In this pivotal role, you will ensure that our teams consistently deliver top-tier products and services while addressing the technical requirements of our community. You will play a crucial role in steering both strategic and tactical decision-making to execute complex cross-team initiatives. Additionally, you will collaborate with program managers to support strategic objectives while working closely with engineering teams to facilitate significant technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage deeply with technical systems, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and maintaining a connection to the details.
  • Deliver results in an environment characterized by ambiguity.
  • Exhibit a strong bias for action while managing multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Define strategic direction and develop, as well as execute, roadmaps for the programs under your purview.
  • Oversee overall coordination, quality, and productivity, serving as the primary contact for global stakeholders involved in your programs.

Throughout your work, you will embody Amazon's Leadership Principles, integrating them into daily practices to drive your programs toward success.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product or program management.
  • 7+ years of direct collaboration with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven experience in managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience in managing projects across diverse teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Expertise in defining KPIs and SLAs to drive multi-million dollar business outcomes and reporting to senior leadership.
