The Senior VAVE Program Manager is responsible for supporting Tenneco's NVH Performance Materials cost leadership initiatives through leading Value Analysis/Value activities.VAVE is an innovative way of reducing product costs while simultaneously strengthening relationships with key suppliers and improving product quality. VAVE allows creatively generate alternatives to secure essential functions at the greatest worth as opposed to cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive and lead implementation of VAVE's with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and suppliers, to achieve measurable and increasing net cost reductions for Tenneco
  • Is responsible for increasing the net cost reductions for Tenneco through VAVE implementation significantly beyond previous average performance.
  • Adherence to change management processes
  • Hosts and prepares for VAVE workshops, set clear targets for execution
  • Generate VAVE ideas on site at supplier premises
  • Document findings from VAVE workshop and report out by means of an action register
  • Drive negotiations for implementation of VAVE's with suppliers in function of established deadlines

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or technical discipline (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 10 plus years' experience in Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related experience
  • Strong leader of cross functional teams; critical
  • Influential with the ability to articulate and drive teams toward a common goal
  • Familiarity with VAVE tools and processes
  • Advanced PC skills (spreadsheets, etc.) required
  • Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven success working under pressure while driving projects to closure
  • Ability to travel required (estimate 50%)
  • Familiarity with drawings, specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes
