Job Description

Job Summary:

Teledyne Marine Systems is an aggregation of leading-edge undersea technology companies including Teledyne Benthos, Teledyne Webb Research, Teledyne SeaBotix and Teledyne Oceanscience on Cape Cod and Teledyne Gavia in Iceland. Our products include autonomous underwater gliders, vehicles and floats, remotely operated vehicles both subsea and surface, acoustic communication and positioning systems, and acoustic releases. Teledyne Marine Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to join its engineering team in the design and development of underwater products. this position will involve engineering support for new product development, customizing equipment for new applications and existing product development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Software Development, including embedded processors and applications
Has some customer contact
Work independently on assigned coding tasks, participate in code reviews and group project discussions.
Assist with system architecture, requirements, diagrams and documentation
Assist with test plans and execute design verification testing
Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)
Ability to obtain Clearance if needed
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
2-4 years related engineering experience
Experience with sensor interfaces and data acquisition systems
Experience with real time embedded operating systems
Experience with Communications Protocols (TCP/IP), Serial, USB, etc.
Demonstrated excellence in analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with development tools, IDE, Static analysis tools, software configuration and version management systems
Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills
Linux development environment a plus
C, C++ and/or C#, Python
Preferred:
Knowledge of oceanographic instruments and vehicles
Knowledge of robotics and autonomy
Ability to read and understand schematics of basic electronics
Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, etc.
