REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
This position is a CNC Programmer - Engineering Support
- Experience with MASTERCAM software preferred
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain clearance if required
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM preferred but not required.
- A minimum 6 years' experience, or combination of training and experience programming, performing set-up's, operating CNC Equipment, and troubleshooting complex multi-axis fabrication projects on various CNC machines with multiple controller configurations.
- Previous experience generating CNC programs with MasterCam and Pro-E (Creo) or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Two years working with quality systems and processes.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for qualified candidates to provide essential engineering assistance in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The following outlines the various responsibilities expected of a Technical Support Engineer II.
The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the tasking is comparable or logically associated to the role.
- Develop and adjust CNC programming for diverse production machinery.
- Execute set-ups and validate programs on various CNC Mills, Wire EDM Machines, and lathes.
- Proficiently read, interpret GD&T, and analyze engineering drawings, CAD files, production planning documents, technical documents, and manuals.
- Formulate or review machining process plans detailing task steps and associated labor hour estimates. Implement controlled modifications to work plans or methods as necessary to achieve objectives.
- Analyze documents, drawings, preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes to determine processes for fabricating prototype and production assemblies.
- Provide support on the manufacturing floor, ensuring prompt resolution of technical challenges.
- Review and create machining and sheet metal fabrication labor estimates.
- Maintain and enhance existing statistical process controls while implementing new ones.
- Conduct manufacturing capability assessments and labor estimates.
- Assist or mentor Machine Shop personnel with set-ups and operation of multi-axis CNC Equipment.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP software is advantageous.
- Previous experience generating CNC programs with MasterCam and Pro-E (Creo).
- Previous experience with data repositories.
