Green Bay Area Catholic Education, Inc. (GRACE) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director of Advancement to lead our organization in achieving its mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, events management, and digital marketing.
The Executive Director of Advancement reports to the President and leads advancement initiatives to set and achieve annual and long-range fundraising goals including philanthropy and stewardship. The Executive Director of Advancement collaborates with program staff to support funding needs and priorities, and manages the Director of Communications and Director of Development to ensure consistent branding, clear and targeted messaging, and strengthened relationships with donors and benefactors.
Essential Functions:
**Philanthropy and Stewardship
Contribute to the mission of GRACE Schools.
Develops and oversees implementation of the advancement plan in consultation with leadership and other stakeholders.
Manages a portfolio of donors and prospective major donors across GRACE by leading in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; maintains current documentation of activity.
Select, train, supervise and evaluate the work of staff involved in advancement.
Develops and strengthens relationships with individuals, corporations, government agencies, and external foundations.
Spends a large amount of time developing relationships and cultivating donors.
Delegates and oversees creation of donor-related materials including print and electronic appeals, stewardship communication, and meeting packets.
Collaborates with GRACE leadership team to coordinate baseline annual fundraising targets with organizational strategic objectives and budget.
Provide timely notice to business office of impending gift requests to ensure clear path of accounting and procedures.
Oversees Advancement staff member to ensure proper recording of giving, stewardship, visits, prospects and planned gifts.
Prepares or delegates preparation of written and verbal proposals, concept and informational materials, endowment and planned giving agreements, and other materials needed to secure major gifts in collaboration with colleagues, as appropriate.
Solicits a measurable number of major gifts annually—in collaboration with the President when necessary—while growing a pipeline of new opportunities to support future major gift solicitations.
Represents organization publicly when the President cannot, to strategically grow a community of stakeholders, working with other staff to coordinate strategic meetings and small-scale events as needed.
In coordination with the President, creates opportunities to increase the visibility of GRACE across the state through strategic partnerships, events, and special initiatives as schedule and budget permit.
**Marketing and Communication
Oversees and coaches the Marketing and Communication Director and team to support growth, retention, recruitment and satisfaction of the GRACE mission.
Coaches, supervises, and evaluates the Marketing/Communication Team and ensures staff members have the tools needed to accomplish their jobs.
Provides guidance to reports and tracks performance against plans and budget.
Explores new ideas through professional growth opportunities.
**Leadership Team and Board
Participates actively in leadership team meetings to strategize and position the organization for the future.
Member of the President's Cabinet
Meets as invited, with Board members to cultivate and solicit for major gifts for organization work and to grow our network of new donors.
Coordinates meetings every other month with the Advancement Committee and prepares activities, reports, and meeting agendas.
**Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Personal track record of success in reaching and exceeding fundraising goals.
Experience and proven track record in Marketing/Communications.
Proven ability to establish objectives, set performance standards, and organize and motivate a team to achieve goals.
Demonstrated project management, organization, delegation, and prioritization skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
**Interpersonal Characteristics
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships of trust and respect with development staff, colleagues, volunteers, and donors.
Commitment to Catholic education and GRACE's mission.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in a related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with 3+ years in a leadership role
Experience in education or institutional advancement is a plus
Performs other duties as assigned by the President
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
