Job Summary:

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Product Manager to join our team dedicated to the innovation, management, and optimization of the VUMC Microsoft Dynamics 365 investment. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and a proven track record in implementing business solutions within this domain.

Work Arrangement:
*While this position is primarily remote, occasional visits to the main Nashville VUMC campus may be required.

Key Responsibilities :

Domain Expertise:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for overall Microsoft Dynamics 365 functionality and capabilities.
  • Understand the intricacies of the system, including its modules, integrations, and customization options.

Planning:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies that align organizational goals with Dynamics 365 capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced user experiences.

Business Transformation:

  • Leverage Dynamics 365 to drive business transformation within the organization.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable product features and enhancements.
  • Assist with Dynamics 365-related projects from conception through implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with other VUMC departments and leadership to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Facilitate discussions, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Product Management:

  • Evaluate and recommend new Dynamics 365 features, applications, and technologies to support business objectives.
  • Participate in product governance, define project scope, create roadmaps, and oversee execution.

Sustainment and Optimization:

  • Once implemented, take ownership of the ongoing sustainment of Dynamics 365 solutions.
  • Continuously monitor system performance, user adoption, and identify areas for optimization.

Vendor Alignment:

  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to stay informed about Dynamics 365 updates, licensing, and best practices.
  • Evaluate third-party solutions and integrations to enhance the platform.

Data Governance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and establish robust security protocols.
  • Manage data quality, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

  • Define KPIs and performance metrics related to Dynamics 365 usage and impact.
  • Regularly report on system performance, user satisfaction, and ROI.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

Product Knowledge (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics 365. Is often relied upon by others for knowledge of the product and plays a lead role in projects related to the product. Has some experience in developing/supporting applications specific to the product.

Project Coordination (Advanced): Manages interdependencies among multiple related and unrelated projects whose coordinated delivery is required to achieve higher organizational objectives. Identifies opportunities for cross-discipline participation. Develops and documents project policies and procedures. Manages the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of major project efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, and resource requirements. Contributes to the development of Project Coordination best practices for the organization.

Product Vendor Management (Advanced): Is relied upon for the development of the most complex consulting, training, software and hardware contracts for the corporation. Develops and monitors vendor performance, relating to duties specific to their service level agreement: average speed of answer, service levels, conversion rates, quality assurance etc. Ensures clarity, accountability, communication and cooperation. Leads the formation of teams to develop the necessary technical specifications. Works with contracts that span various departments or corporate locations. Has been involved in the mediation of contract disputes. Consistently delivers services in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others.

Emerging Technologies (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of knowledge in new and emerging technologies. Contributes to strategic planning in areas which require expert knowledge and experience. Participates in advanced technology efforts for the company, evaluating and testing new products to determine their value and applicability to the organization. Often takes a lead role in critical situations where there is a need to apply knowledge of technological trends, emerging technology and/or new tools and products. Successfully selects and implements new technology to meet requirements of state-of-the-art systems and projects. Helps set standards and establish procedures relating to new technological products and services. Actively participates in outside professional organizations and forums.

IT Portfolio Management (Advanced): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying IT Portfolio Management in challenging and complex situations. Responsible for planning major portfolio additions and determining the retirement of systems. Contributes to the development of IT Portfolio Management best practices for the organization.
