Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based out of either our New York City office or local office in a hybrid schedule.

IT Security Lead Specialist

What you can expect:

  • The IT Security Lead Specialist is a business-oriented information security engineering leadership role.
  • This position is for a recognized, subject matter expert in Information Security who designs, develops, and integrates security solutions and programs globally across the MMC Shared Services organization.
  • The position is fundamentally responsible for enhancing cyber preparedness and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the firm's data and intellectual property.
  • Work with business and IT teams to drive delivery on the multi-factor, at-rest-encryption, and system logging initiatives of the firm. Review and approve risks and their associated treatment plans. Drive improvement of key risk metrics enabling the business teams to reduce risk to our computing and application systems
  • This role supports executive strategies while conducting industry research on new ways improve on existing processes, practices, and technologies.

We will expect you to:

  • Executes, drives, and implements key security strategies within Marsh & McLennan shared services organization designed to protect thousands of applications and servers world-wide from threats.
  • Designs and implements key controls that reduce security risk and protect the firm's critical assets. Provides oversight on security programs that drive down security risk.
  • Reviews, assesses and signoffs on business projects with respect to risk adherence to security policies, standards, and industry best practices for data protection.
  • Drives technical and strategic direction of the IT Security function across all the company globally.
  • Maintains and updates complex, IT Security road maps through industry research, knowledge transfer, and continued learning.
  • Partners with and provides IT Security expertise to the operating companies; provides guidance and direction on secure application hosting for internal and client facing application systems.
  • Assesses applications and the associated data flow for risk to sensitive data, systems, or infrastructure.
  • Collaboratively documents security controls and application access requirements associated with hosted applications and systems.
  • Participates and takes a lead role on Incident Response Teams as necessary to mitigate active security incidents that could potentially threaten MMC's computing environment.

What you need to have:

  • 5-7+ years' experience in Security specific disciplines.
  • Extensive experience with IT platforms and infrastructure including public and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Extensive experience in security controls, technologies, and threat countermeasures.
  • Experience with vendor and 3rd party risk management.
  • Advanced knowledge of security risks and risk management best practices. Advanced knowledge of vulnerability management remediation and best practices. General knowledge of security frameworks and governance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cyber regulations impacting multi-national companies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Relationships with outside industry experts in the security space a plus.

  • B.S. in Business or relevant degree preferred
  • CISSP, CISM or similar, though not required.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $111,000 to $222,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
