Job Description

Mead & Hunt is a national, full-service architectural and engineering firm that has been serving markets for well over a century. We provide clients with expert planning, architecture design, engineering, environmental and construction administration services across a wide variety of market sectors, including transportation (aviation, highways, roads and bridges), food and beverage processing, renewable energy, municipal infrastructure, military, telecommunications, cultural resources, and hydropower and water resources. We have an opening for an Entry Level Process or Electrical Controls Engineer in our EPC Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Will have work assignments that include instrumentation and controls design
  • PLC and HMI programming
  • May include design of control panels, power and control electrical to process equipment, and other facility systems
  • May include developing functional specifications for process control systems
  • Controls staff will also participate in field testing (I/O verification, operational readiness testing, functional & performance testing), commissioning, training, and startup services of Mead & Hunt designed and constructed systems
  • There will be travel to visit client facilities for controls engineering related tasks.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Valid drivers license.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Strong academic credentials, intern or co-op experience, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent personal and academic references.
    Internships or other experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Rockwell, Modicon, Siemens and other), human machine interface (HMI) development and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prior experience, formal or informal, utilizing advanced computer skills in areas such as networking, troubleshooting, custom building, programming, and alternative operating systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Prior experience in construction or engineering consulting is a plus, but not required.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $85,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
