Position: Control Department Electrical Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Execute wiring and assembly tasks on a diverse range of control systems for control panels and mechanical assemblies featuring moderately intricate circuits.

Plan and organize work, adapting standard procedures as necessary.

Install various types of controls and equipment.

Cut, shape, and connect wiring according to specifications, optimizing available space for superior craftsmanship and outcomes.

Conduct testing of components intended for application.

May assist in or carry out testing operations on units and finished assemblies.

Work from wiring diagrams, specifications, and job layouts; utilize a variety of electrical testing and measuring devices and equipment.

Job Duties:

Layout, fabrication, and assembly of components.

Source specialty materials for assemblies as required.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and equipment.

Test finished products for quality assurance.

Perform electrical wiring and related tasks.

Forklift operation experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Welding, piping, and other mechanical skills are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities:

Ensure complete and accurate assemblies in accordance with job design specifications.

Oversee quality control to guarantee all assemblies meet company standards prior to shipment.

Ensure all necessary documentation is included with shipments.

Maintain a safe working environment.

Update all marked assembly drawings before shipping.

Ensure all documentation and loose components are included with each shipment.

Accurately record all shop labor hours, including start times, breaks, and overtime.

Complete assemblies within the timeframes established by the Production Manager.

Document hours spent on work orders accurately.

Participate in pre-manufacturing job meetings.

Authority:

Procure necessary components from internal inventory for production needs.

Reporting Structure:

Report to the Control Department Manager and Production Manager regarding production issues, staffing needs, and any discrepancies in estimated versus actual hours required for project completion.

Standards:

Deliver work with zero defects.

Complete orders promptly and within budgeted hours.

Minimize rework due to shop errors.

Operate with a high level of efficiency.

Position Objectives:

Produce high-quality control panel assemblies.

Facilitate efficient job production.

Deliver exceptional workmanship to enhance customer satisfaction.

Foster a friendly, safe, and efficient work environment.

Contribute to the enhancement of manufacturing processes.

Reduce production costs by optimizing manufacturing effectiveness.

Requirements:

Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.

Possess skills, techniques, and experience along with a foundational understanding of design and electrical principles.

Experience in production scheduling and planning is essential.

Ability to verify the functionality of final assemblies in relation to customer process requirements.

Familiarity with the operation of all shop tools is necessary.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics is essential.

Willingness to assist in non-electrical assembly tasks as needed.

A valid driver's license is required for operating a company vehicle.
