Responsible for:

  • All supervisory responsibilities for direct reports, including hiring, training, coaching / counseling, discipline, and general management of the team.
  • Staff coverage – coordinate with the regional pod counterparts on cross training to back fill and assist the team during absences, vacations, or periods of low staffing.
  • Overall knowledge of services of Import/Export/FTF and that all information is available to communicate on negotiations of rate(s) with line / trade management on behalf of the customer / field representative within departmental time guidelines.
  • Set up quotes and or prepare/coordinate contracts as required.
  • Resolve customer related issues and problems.
  • Coordinate direct marketing material distribution.
  • Pull/Analyze JOC stats to pre-qualify opportunities as required.
  • Identify through marketing reports and oversee follow up on cargo campaigns to secure additional volumes from this account base.
  • Run and consolidate reports – KPI, business plan, vessel profile, budget to actual and others as assigned.

  • Assist in the bid process by communicating required information for customer review.

Skills, Knowledge, and abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the international transportation industry, preferably in sales and or sales support.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in supervisory or management position
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Has the business and technical skills for the job; understands how business works. Knowledgeable in policies, practices, trends, and technologies relevant to the job.
  • Able to establish priorities and makes decisions in timely manner. Can quickly separate the mission-critical from the nice-to-do and the trivial.
  • Mobilizes resources to get things done, foresees and plans around obstacles, uses time effectively and efficiently.
  • Does not hesitate to take on all issues, challenges, and people; confronts and works through conflict; not afraid to make negative decisions and take tough actions.
  • Able to assess what skills are required to fill a job; is a good judge of talent, can diagnose strengths, weaknesses and potential; matches the right person to the job.

  • Required knowledge of CMA CGM services / network and transportation.
  • All internal candidates must be familiar with LARA and basic CMA CGM systems and can learn CRM, Diva, GRM, Ratebase and other applications as needed to maintain the business.
  • Expected to work over 40 hours per week to complete essential projects.
  • Expected to work staggered hours in supporting sales reps in different time zones,
  • Always maintain professional demeanor and etiquette.
  • Possess a mindset that clearly recognizes, specifically in tone and approach, the importance and sensitivity of our customers.
  • Knowledge of commercial and financial jargon of international trade.
  • Entrepreneurially minded, can make accurate, effective decisions.
  • Proven computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Access not required but preferred).
  • Consistently acts in line with a clear and visible set of values and beliefs; Exemplifies corporate core values; Direct and truthful, able to keep confidences.
  • Ability to identify departmental monthly goals, set targets and motivate for success.
  • Sound judgment and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop alternative solutions.

  • Result oriented, self-motivated leader who can work in a team environment, as well as make independent decisions.
  • Demonstrated competency in coaching for business results, leading and managing change, relationship building and problem solving.
  • Ability to work with HO project managers on new or updated internal application (regression testing)
  • Ability to train to sale teams, CRM, GRM, Piers or other application when required.
