SUMMARY:The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all North America Inside Sales team supporting all OEM Aftermarket and BA/GA Transactional customer bases in the region for the VSE Aviation Distribution Group. This includes development and execution of the inside sales strategy, customer growth strategy, team structure, and metrics for the various teams and sites in the US. A successful Inside Sales Director will drive a standard process across the teams focused on delivering world class Customer Service and execution in partnership with the cross functional supporting functions, and consistently meet team and organization Key Results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manages multiple inside sales teams to include; planning, implementing, and overseeing work assignments, employee training, career development, and performance management.
  2. Responsible for planning and maintaining the policies and procedures that enable and encourage optimum performance by the inside sales groups.
  3. Coordinates with other employees and managers from other departments to ensure customer service goals and operational objectives are met.
  4. Assists in the creation of sales proposals, cost estimates, and customer presentations.
  5. Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  6. Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators with the intent of continuously improving the customer experience and operational efficiencies.
  7. Contributes to creating and maintaining best practices to ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree
  2. 10 years of relevant/technical work experience and 7-9 years of leadership experience OR
  3. An additional 4 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
  4. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  5. Data analysis, statistical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
  6. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, etc.)
  7. Solid Knowledge of U.S. Export Rules and regulations
  8. Light travel

Preferred Requirements

  1. 14+ years of customer service/sales experience
  2. 10+ years in aviation industry
  3. 10+ years in a leadership position.
  4. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9120
  5. Knowledge of Quantum Control Software
