Primary Purpose:

The Community Impact Specialist is responsible for implementing the employee-facing philanthropy strategy with the goal of enhancing inclusion and community engagement at Norfolk Southern.

Principal Duties:

  • Facilitate company-wide giving programs and initiatives, including overseeing giving systems, processes, and payments and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to foster strong community partnerships.
  • Manage multiple scholarship programs for NS employees and community members
  • Support the implementation of various yearly engagement campaigns (i.e., Giving November)
  • Partner with employee resource groups to develop initiatives that help them realize their goals and advance inclusion
  • Oversee nonprofit sponsorships and ensure employee participation
  • Partner with the internal and external communications teams to build Norfolk Southern's brand as a responsible corporate citizen
  • Continuously evaluate current programs and develop unique opportunities to increase employee contributions
  • Track and analyze employee giving metrics
  • Ensure compliance with all IRS tax requirements and NS requested documentation
  • All other duties, as assigned and/or required, to perform the above responsibilities

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter with the ability to think out-of-the box
  • Experience setting data-driven targets and analyzing progress
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to be agile and stay focused under shifting circumstances

Minimum Level: 0-1 years

Preferred Level: 2-3 years

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Technical Skills:
