Job Description:

The Field Learning Specialist is responsible for executing the development and training programs along with initiatives in the field. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for field training programs and a liaison between the Talent and Learning department at the Store Support Center. Up to 50% travel required in assigned region.

Responsibilities:

Training Facilitation

  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation sessions in assigned regions.
  • Facilitate food safety training in assigned regions.
  • Facilitate any state or local testing for alcohol service in assigned regions.
  • Participate in train the trainer sessions for Company rollouts; Partner with Operations leaders for training program rollouts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training at New Store Openings.

Training Programs + Training Effectiveness

  • Supervise and Executes training programs to ultimately drive performance and leadership at the store level which includes providing adequate training tools, conducting soft and hard skills training.
  • Drives People, Profit and Guests through training initiatives that adhere to Operational Goals.
  • Facilitates and serves as the point of contact for new hire orientation which includes educating new employees on RaceTrac's culture and training on core store functions.
  • Drives guest engagement by assessing new hires and training applicable skills to exceed guest expectations during 2- day new hire orientation.
  • Actively monitors initial training modules completion through DRIVE.
  • Budgets and forecasts for funds and resources needed for learning needs.
  • Provide feedback and follow-up documentation on executed rollouts and training meetings
  • Review Period, Quarterly and Yearly Training results to identify gaps and develop/execute Training plans to address in assigned region.
  • Actively review and provide feedback on all training programs in development.
  • Provide observations, evaluations, and feedback on training effectiveness
  • Follow-up on adoption rates of all programs and initiatives for the region through store visits.
  • Support region in reaching training goals.
  • Support underperforming stores as prescribed by the regional operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Holds self-accountable to high personal standards of conduct and professionalism.
  • Excellent speaking and presentation techniques.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with Crewmembers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Superior organization and follow-up skills.
  • Experience managing or supervising staff preferred.
  • 2+ years retail experience or related field preferred.
  • Experience in or proven ability to train or teach others.
  • Training certifications desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous multi-unit training experience required, minimum 5 years preferred.
