Job Overview

LandSouth Construction, a prominent multifamily general contractor, is seeking a Construction Field Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for our upcoming apartment development project.

Position Summary
The Construction Field Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the project team with the daily coordination of on-site activities. This position aims to enhance the educational experiences associated with ground-up multifamily construction by providing practical exposure to project management methodologies, processes, and software tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the supervision of subcontractors and vendors while providing regular updates to the Project Superintendent.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess progress, safety standards, efficiency, workmanship quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist the project team with the preparation of submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
  • Facilitate project documentation tasks, including maintaining plans, files, reports, change orders, manuals, schedules, permits, and inspection records.
  • Organize and maintain job site activity logs, including construction progress photos, inventory records, and labor timesheets.
  • Ensure that project information is accessible by promptly scanning and uploading documents into designated project folders.
  • Assist in organizing the job site to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate site inspections with relevant agencies as required.
  • Manage material deliveries as directed by the Project Superintendent.
  • Support the team with final punch list items.
  • Act as a safety advocate by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a construction management program is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software; comfortable using technology and mobile devices.
  • Experience with Procore is advantageous.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
