Position Overview

The Nighttime Bakery Operations Associate is responsible for providing essential overnight support to the bakery team. This includes receiving and preparing products while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, displays, and back stock in alignment with company standards. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive company image through courteous and efficient service to both customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify that products meet quality standards.
  • Accurately manage waste sorting and scanning.
  • Uphold production standards consistently.
  • Restock and sanitize shelves, bins, and food preparation areas.
  • Organize back stock effectively.
  • Handle invoices for products delivered outside of standard receiving hours.
  • Ensure proper check-in of products and report discrepancies to team leadership.
  • Facilitate the transfer of products from receiving areas to the sales floor or designated back stock locations.
  • Assist in receiving and sorting overnight deliveries for various teams.

Arrive punctually at the workstation, appropriately groomed and ready to work; fulfill all scheduled shifts and participate in required training and meetings.

Customer Service Excellence

Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, employing suggestive selling techniques, and responding to inquiries courteously.

Sales Maximization

Enhance sales potential through effective procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.

Compliance and Safety

Adhere to established procedures, including health and sanitation standards, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, ensuring equipment meets cleanliness and safety standards.

Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.

Report safety hazards and violations immediately.

Execute additional duties as assigned by store or regional leadership.

Required Skills

  • Ability to acquire basic knowledge of all products in the department.
  • Capability to visually assess products for quality and freshness.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and respectfully to team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Commitment to meeting customer service expectations in all interactions.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
  • Engage in various physical motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals approved by the FDA.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
