Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our Retail Team at our College - San Diego Thrift Store. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with sales and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all customers and donors receive a genuine greeting and prompt assistance.
  • Stock and merchandise products on the sales floor, ensuring that all items are accurately priced and displayed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and donation area.
  • Assist with sales and inventory management, including receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming inventory items.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Assist donors with the removal of donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
  • Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
  • Must pass a background check, which will include a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands

The Sales Associate will be required to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. They will also be required to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts. The ability to lift up to 50lbs is also required.

Work Schedule

The Sales Associate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The store operates 7 days a week, and the work schedule will be determined by management.
