Overview:
PNNL's Human Resources organization is comprised of ~120 plus committed professionals working to advance the interests of the lab and support scientific discovery and excellence. The Culture and Belonging (C & B) Consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, supporting and monitoring effective diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) strategies and projects that promotes PNNL's WE Culture. Our WE Culture is an ideology that underpins who we are and reinforces the behaviors that demonstrate belonging, connection, safety, and security. The C & B Consultant reports to the Chief Diversity Officer's office.

The Culture and Belonging Consultant partners with leaders across the organization to develop and champion initiatives to help achieve our lab-wide DEIA strategy and goals. The C & B Consultant has a deep understanding of DEIA principles to create and foster a workplace culture that values DEIA; and where all employees feel like they belong and can thrive.

Responsibilities:
Serve as champion and thought partner to collaborate with leaders and employees to recommend, develop, sustain, promote, and implement evidence-based practices and strategies that create an intentional culture of inclusion
Serve as a DEIA expert within the organization, providing guidance and insight
Design and execute DEIA initiatives that align with organizational EEO goals and compliance
Lead projects to increase workforce diversity by partnering with Human Resource (HR) Talent Acquisition/Recruitment to develop strategies and best practices
Collaborate with HR Strategic Partners, and Learning and Development Team to identify, develop, and deliver DEIA training, workshops, and learning journeys
Partner and develop communication strategies with PNNL Communication Team to enhance awareness and engagement around DEIA within the laboratory
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management to demonstrate the impact of DEIA strategies
Lead enhancements of inclusivity in workplace culture and employee engagement practices including serving as the primary liasion with organization's employee resource groups and directorate inclusion councils including managing day-to-day operations
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of DEIA initiatives, using metrics and feedback to gauge progress and identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA and 7 years of relevant experience -OR-
MS/MA or higher and 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of managing DEIA programs
In-depth knowledge of DEIA best practices and relevant federal and state laws and regulations
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Strong presentation, writing, consulting and coaching skills are essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze data related to DEIA metrics
Demonstrated understanding and respect for different cultures, backgrounds, and identities
Experience in developing and delivering workshops and training related to DEIA
Proficiency in addressing and resolving conflicts related to DEIA
