Job Purpose

The purpose of a Payroll Coordinator is to ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Confirm weekly payroll approval including confirmation of verification of codes, work spans, OT payments
  • HRIS system updates of hourly & salary transfers and hiring of new employees
  • Administration & submittal of annual GWI, bonus payments, vacation payout, and other matters related to Payroll processes
  • Administration of attendance program
  • FMLA & disability administration including wage calculations
  • Submission of Union dues, pension plan report, various invoices into Ariba
  • Run & submit weekly & month-end reports & analyze data to communicate trends, root causes, etc
  • Respond to day-to-day employee inquiries & requests
  • Advise Management on progressive discipline steps and supporting documentation to include with disciplines
  • Administers human resources policies, procedures, and programs, including FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, work conduct, reimbursement to employees, etc.
  • Administer provisions of Agreements, Policies, Work Rules & counsel Management in the interpretation of Agreements: TL process, approval process for back-up TL pay,
  • Conduct training for Salary employees in the following areas: ETime, etc.
  • Identify, recommend and implement new approaches/improvements, policies, and procedures for continuous improvements in efficiency of department and services performed, ADP, HRIS system
  • Participate in hourly hiring events, on-boarding and orientation activities for both hourly & salary employees
  • Assist with workplace investigations
  • Assist with employee engagement & DEI initiatives to promote an engaged and empowered workforce
  • Be an advocate for employees to support correct weekly pay
  • Build relationships with Salary Supervisors, Staff, hourly employees and Union leadership
  • This position may require off-shift work you to flex hours as necessary
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-4 years' HR/Payroll experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Education minimum of a 4-year degree (BA or BS) in applicable area or education/ experience equivalent
  • System experience: ADP, SAP, HRIS, Teams, PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills
  • Required skills/competencies: excellent time management skills, ability to meet strict deadlines, attention to detail, 1st time accuracy, priority setting, excellent organizational skills, rigorous problem solving, analyze data, effective communication & excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence without authority
