The Program

We seek an outstanding researcher from any sub-discipline in Earth Sciences who works on the properties of critical resources, including water and/or elemental migration, economic viability, and the impact of these materials on the landscape.

This researcher may use field, analytical, experimental, remote sensing, and/or modeling approaches.

We envision the successful candidate to be from research areas that include, but are not limited to the genesis, transport, and distribution of critical resources in the crust, records of deep fluids and geothermal circulation, economic geology and mineral deposit formation, low-grade and non-traditional ore deposits, and mechanisms for carbon storage with critical element recovery potential.

The candidate will be expected to contribute to our undergraduate major, as well as contribute to the graduate curriculum with courses specific to the candidate's research specialty.

The College of Letters and Science is the largest center for learning, teaching, and research at Montana State University.
