This position is for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Bozeman Health, focusing on casual call work in various laboratory settings.

Employees will benefit from a shift differential for hours worked in specific locations. The role primarily involves day shifts, with occasional night shifts.

Position Overview:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance in diverse clinical laboratory environments. This includes conducting analyses on blood and other bodily fluids, reviewing and interpreting data from quality control and patient testing, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure the accurate handling and testing of laboratory specimens. Additionally, this role may involve training new staff and students.

As a potential Team Lead, responsibilities include evaluating quality control data, calibration results, and instrument maintenance records within the department.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service to healthcare providers, patients, and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or qualifications sufficient for Montana Licensure (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) if licensed prior to 2010.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Clinical Lab Scientist or Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent)

Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate and operate automated laboratory equipment.
- Conduct manual testing in accordance with established procedures.

- Analyze and interpret blood smears and other biological specimens.
- Perform laboratory tests across various areas on a rotational basis.
- Enter, validate, and manage results within the Laboratory Information System.

- Monitor results, quality control, and instrument performance, addressing any anomalies.
- Troubleshoot and repair laboratory instruments, assist in developing new procedures, and provide training.
- Prepare reagents and controls.
- If in a Team Lead role, oversee calibration and manual testing in line with written protocols.

- Advanced mathematical skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present complex data.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
