Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Engineers, Systems Architecture located in Overland Park, KS will write requirements for compliance and device certification and perform root cause analysis by reviewing test results and performing application, modem, and IMS log analysis.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Write requirements for compliance and device certification to make sure product/device is designed as per GSMA, 3GPP, T-Mobile standards and FCC requirements (25%); Troubleshoot network and device issues and work with network engineers and RF engineers along with chipset vendors and device OEMs (15%); Set up testing criteria/test cases to roll out new features and work with device validation teams and third-party labs to get them ready for T-Mobile Launch(15%); Work with Performance KPI teams and Device Analytics teams in setting up performance dashboards and focus on enhancing impacted services with mid & low KPI scores (10%); Work with Cross Function teams such as Legal, Marketing, Billing, customer care, IT for end-to-end integration of new features and services (10%); Perform Feature Integration Testing (FIT) in field, lab, and production environments (5%); Combat spoofed robocalls with caller ID authentication withSHAKEN/STIR Protocol (5%); Design, modify, and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release (10%); Promote investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities (10%). Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in: Utilizing Wireless Communication Standards for Voice including GSMA - IR.92/IR.94/IR.51, Messaging including GSMA – IR.52/RCC.59/RCC.71 and Data including 3GPP - GPRS/EDGE/GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR, 3GPP2 - cdma2000/CDMA. Writing requirements and test cases for IMS Voice Services including VoNR, VoLTE, VoWiFi, Messaging Services including SMS, MMS, RCS-UP1.0, RCS-UP2.0, Location Base Services including AGPS, ECID, Android ELS, SUPL, LTE-CP, CDMA-CP for device certification. Ability to perform Feature Integration Testing (FIT) in lab & Field for Emergency Services including E911, Text to 911, CMAS, WEA2.0, WEA3.0 and Accessibility services including TTY, RTT. Coordinating and testing Emergency Services & location accuracy with Public Safety 911 operators and County Sheriff offices. Implementing troubleshooting tools including QCAT, PCAT, QXDM, XCAL, ELT MediaTek, Shannon, Wireshark, IRIS, Truecall, NG1, Intrado, or comparable tools for log collection and modem level deep dive log analysis. Utilizing major OEM devices including Apple, Alcatel, Google, LG, Motorola, OnePlus, Samsung, Sonim and Chipsets including Qualcomm, Intel, MediaTek, Samsung LSI. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related, and one year of relevant work experience. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related, and three years of relevant work experience.
