Overview:

The Investment Compliance Analyst will join a dynamic organization in support of investment operations and compliance reporting functions for the Talcott General Account. The Investment Compliance Analyst role shall provide the selected candidate with significant professional growth and exposure to a robust investment compliance operation that spans a complex, growth-oriented investment platform. Our selected candidate shall participate in compliance reviews, reporting and business integrity checks. Additional key accountabilities shall include partnership with Investment Managers on investment compliance matters, compliance rules and oversight of regulatory changes. The Investment Compliance Analyst shall partner closely with internal stakeholders regarding regulatory updates affecting compliance workflows. Additionally, this individual shall support the investment operations team on various operational initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of Talcott's Investment compliance systems and processes.
  • Ensuring that all compliance rules including reinsurance agreements, investment management agreements and internal risk tolerance thresholds are established within our risk applications for timely and accurate monitoring.
  • Coordinate the review and communication of breaches, both actual and anticipated, with internal personnel including Heads of Credit, ALM and CIO, and external entities including asset managers and reinsurance partners.
  • Update and maintain compliance policy and procedures
  • Prepare and present periodic investment compliance reporting to CIO and external partners
  • Enhance and maintain Talcott's ESG compliance processes
  • Remain updated on all regulatory changes contemplated or made while collaborating with others across Talcott including Law, Actuarial and Finance
  • Add value to various Investment Operations initiatives, especially during new business acquisitions
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of relevant compliance and/or operations experience in the investment management space
  • Bachelor's Degree with a business major focus (finance, accounting, business administration, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of investment advisory rules and regulations
  • Ability to perform research, analysis and interpret financial data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines within a highly-matrixed environment
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and data manipulation
  • Familiarity with MS SQL queries is a plus
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Creative and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate cooperation and collaboration in a team setting
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational ability
