Position Summary
The Underwriting Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s financial and strategic objectives. This position is responsible for identifying and managing risks to optimize revenue, membership, and profitability. The Analyst will conduct thorough underwriting evaluations and risk assessments for both new and renewal large group contracts.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced knowledge of various product types, funding arrangements, and rating methodologies to perform underwriting tasks.
- Prepare daily summaries of all file uploads and review work for accuracy, collaborating with mentors to recommend pricing and accounting balance alternatives based on comprehensive financial analysis.
- Employ basic functionalities of underwriting tools and systems to generate precise quotes, renewals, and accounting information.
- Apply underwriting guidelines and escalate exceptions or financial variances as necessary.
- Assist sales teams in articulating rate structures, accounting balances, and underwriting policies.
- Produce timely and accurate customer-specific documentation and deliverables.
- Conduct audits on premiums, fees, and claims to ensure all receivables are correctly accounted for, while tracking customer allowances in accordance with compliance guidelines.
- Participate in departmental projects and workgroups, identifying opportunities for process improvements through automation or procedural changes.

Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and independent thinking skills.
- Effective collaboration skills to meet and exceed expectations.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications.
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
The typical pay range for this role is $42.91 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade. Actual salary offers will depend on various factors including experience, education, and geography. This position is eligible for a bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
