Commercial Manager - Milling & Baking Solutions - Hudson, New York
This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

The Commercial Manager is a leadership role responsible for formulating and executing a profitable business strategy for the milling assets in the region. The position works closely with operations, quality, and finance teams to set and meet business and operational metrics. Candidate will successfully manage local grain procurement and risk management, with support from the Decatur milling trade team, focusing on wheat and flour blending and related activities to minimize cost, maximize output and grow profits

This position will be located in Hudson, New York. This position will be responsible for optimizing and executing the bulk truck, rail, container and packaged production of approximately 18,000 cwts daily capacity and all related activities. Candidate will develop and support employees to achieve personal, regional, and corporate goals.

Responsibilities:Responsible for Profit and Loss of the Milling businessMaximize profits through management of grain procurement and inventories, product sales, execution and customer serviceIdentify and manage risk related to grain quality, finished product and co-productsManage and trade truck freight and basis positions, as well as arbitrage positions with barges, rail and truck where applicableCoordinate with Centralized Wheat Procurement and Grist Management taskforce for effective management of intermarket spreads and positions.Understand and facilitate import and export of net raw materials and finished products through effective collaboration with corporate trade compliance and keen understanding of trade compliance rules.Monthly P&L reporting, forecasting and annual planningAnalyze and distribute financial performance to local and regional leadershipResponsible for hiring, training and development of direct reportsDefine and execute the milling commercial strategyOperate with an owner's mindset and have a strategic thought processManage the competitive landscapeActively partner with Sales on Mill strategy - product mix, customer base, etcBe proactive with local customers' needsServe as the voice of the milling businessCollaborate with AS&O regional and local colleagues to drive efficiencies of trade execution and positionsDrive growth and capex projects through effective project management and coordination with Corporate COE'sDevelop and maintain relationships with customers and vendorsServe as the Mill to Bakery contactManage Mill and Execution scheduling utilizing S&OP tools and metricsBe a Safety ChampionAll other duties as requiredQualifications:5 Years prior experience in milling management or other commercial experienceBachelor's Degree in Business / Economics / Agriculture related fieldHighly motivated & competitiveAbility to multitask and communicate with colleagues at all levelsHave excellent oral and written communication skillsWorking computer knowledge - Microsoft Word and Excel is required
Salary/Wage Range: $95K to $125K, but we have flexibility.
