About the Job:

The Head of Project Management has overall accountability to manage the Project Management department in North America. Responsible for leading the Project Management team and ensuring the process flow and procedures are followed in accordance with established protocol, including developing resources, planning work and developing solutions to effectively execute Food Systems projects. The Head of Project Management will establish procedures and standards, in alignment with Engineering & Supply global guidelines, and will promote best practices and continuous improvement in the Department by using appropriate tools, equipment and computer applications, and also coordinate with management and other departments to increase organizational efficiency.

  • Leadership and management of the project management department in North America
  • Staffing and competence building in the project management department in North America
  • Implementation, use, and improvement of project management, document control, and planning global tools
  • Promote strong relationships between project managers and their customers
  • Supervise on project management of projects under special observation
  • Build and nurture professionalism in all aspects of project management from kick-off meeting to final take over certificate for the projects in the portfolio
  • Be center of excellence for proposals, contracts, and execution
  • Support the sales units with cost calculations, technical support in sales meetings with customers, and participation in contract negotiations
  • Monthly reporting for the global project management function
  • Financial result for project management function in North America
  • Ensure team is trained in safety, communicating safety protocols with project team and customers, and following safety policies during site visit

What you know:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Project Managment Professional- PMP (preferred)
  • Project manager experience, 5 years
  • People management skill set

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall salary range for this role is typically $140,000 to $160,000 base.
