Title:

Project Manager

Under general supervision, you will be responsible for all phases of planning and execution on a small (typically less than $10 million total installed cost) project or may be responsible for a segment of a larger project. You will plan, organize, coordinate, and control small engineering projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. You will have responsibility for day-to-day contact and communication with the client and focuses on providing client satisfaction. You may also serve as a proposal manager for small projects. Your role has budgetary accountability.

Responsibilities:

· Demonstrates interdependent safety culture by working safely and watching out for others' safety; believes all accidents are preventable.

· Leads cross functional capital project teams (including contract engineering team members) to meet business objectives for minor capital projects ($10M) in accordance with the DuPont Minor Project Process and Site Engineering Procedures.

· Facilitate the minor capital projects planning process, led by Area Leadership, to generate a clearly defined and prioritized list of jobs to be implemented.

· Ensure satisfactory basic data is provided in the Minor Project Request (MPR) form before releasing the job to the site design team for scheduling.

· Reconcile business priorities with design resource availability and budget expectations to meet the business needs.

· Lead routine meetings to report on overall minor capital projects status to area leadership. Include a concise review of the current status of all minor projects and a summary of performance metrics (supplemental rate, cycle time, actual expenditures vs. budget, etc.) and lead follow-up efforts to address any system performance issues identified during the reviews.

· Manage the minor project budget and forecasts capital and CAWC (Cost Associated With Capital) expenditures, in accordance with business engineering's direction.

· Participate in site-wide minor capital projects process improvement initiatives. Facilitate the overall process and address design issues that impede success.

· Responsible for the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans, including auditing work processes and deliverables for compliance, and for meeting agreed upon project quality requirements and expectations.

· Champions the "no change" concept and ensures only changes consistent with the business and project objectives are approved.

· Actively supports operations, construction management and installation personnel during project implementation.

Qualifications:

· Required: 4-year B.S. in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical preferred) or relevant industrial Operations/Maintenance experience that includes program leadership.

· Desired: 4 to 7 years of experience leading capital projects, preferably projects greater than $500,000.

· Desired: Prior experience improving performance and capability including demonstrated courage to challenge the status quo.
