Position Overview:

The Head of the Tissue Research Core is essential in driving the scientific objectives of our Liver Research Institute. This role encompasses the management of critical core projects, with a focus on tissue/histology, molecular biology, and spatial transcriptomics.

Assistant Directors will support the strategic goals of the institution, overseeing research initiatives and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee histological processes, including tissue preparation and imaging
  • Collaborate with the Pathology Department on immunohistochemical techniques
  • Manage microscopy and imaging facilities
  • Supervise the collection and preservation of tissue specimens
  • Coordinate with Biorepository personnel and IT teams
  • Facilitate the imaging of tissue specimens
  • Conduct imaging analyses and studies
  • Develop and maintain the imaging core charge master
  • Provide training on equipment and services

Design and analyze projects related to tissue research and molecular biology, collaborate with Omics scientists, ensure data accuracy, and engage with external sponsors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Histology Lab management
  • 10 years of oversight in histology research
  • Experience in promoting diversity within teams

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products
