Position Overview:
The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management is in search of a Head of Cybersecurity Program Management. This role is pivotal in collaborating with executive leadership to comprehend strategic goals and convert them into actionable, measurable tactical elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate comprehensive project plans that delineate departmental roles, responsibilities, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Encourage communication and teamwork among security divisions, promoting a culture of shared responsibility and accountability.
- Oversee dependencies and pinpoint potential challenges, proactively crafting mitigation strategies.
- Track progress towards objectives, analyze data, and identify areas for enhancement or adjustment.
- Provide regular updates on project status and overall strategic alignment to senior management.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve interdepartmental collaboration and information exchange.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of strategic integration practices and suggest improvements.
- Work closely with the risk management director to develop and maintain thorough documentation, reports, and metrics related to risk management and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with product management to ensure appropriate security measures and contractual obligations are upheld for external partners.
- Drive ongoing improvement initiatives by evaluating and refining security processes, procedures, and controls based on feedback, lessons learned, and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to bolster the organization's security posture and align with strategic objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels and collaborative relationships with various teams, departments, and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Deputy CISO regarding the status of security initiatives, projects, and operational activities.
Proven experience in security operations, strategy formulation, and project management within a complex organizational framework.
Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance frameworks, and security controls.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results.

This position is eligible for one (1) day of telework.
