What You Will Do...

As the Wash Plant Operator, you'll oversee and direct activities at our wash plant to facilitate the safe and efficient production of aggregates.

  • Start up the plant each day, and work with an industry-leading team.
  • Provide maintenance by troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and fixing issues as they arise.
  • Oversee the purchasing and inventory of critical plant parts and resources.
  • Run a loader and other heavy equipment to assist your team with other activities in the yard.

Location: This is an on-site position located at our Mark West quarry, north-east of Santa Rosa.

Shift: Primarily work 8 – 12 hrs./day Monday – Saturday.

Wage: $29 – $35/hr DOE w/ significant potential for overtime

Minimum Requirements:

  • You have a strong mechanical background, and are confident in your ability to identify, troubleshoot, and fix mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and/or conveyor systems.
  • You're a safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance and attendance.
  • You can see the big picture and work well with a team to direct activities to keep things running smoothly.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills that allow you to address unexpected problems quickly and efficiently as they arise.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to manage many moving pieces effectively.
  • You're comfortable using PC programs, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • You have a valid driver's license, current authorization to work in the United States, the ability to work frequent overtime and weekends as needed and can pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing and physical examination.

  • This position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
  • Coordinate operations and loading of washed aggregate to ensure timely production, and maintain constant quality control of the materials condition (ex: moisture, dryness, rock fines, etc.)
  • Check hydraulic system and oil flow at start-up, oil cooling system periodically through-out the day, and hydraulic relief system at shut down.
  • Monitor plant for wear and damage, perform routine maintenance and repair, and maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Monitor conveyors, pull cords and guards, chutes and hoppers to ensure efficient operation of plant.
  • Maintain sufficient dust control.
  • Adjust chutes and radial stackers to maintain balanced stockpiles.
  • Ensure all electrical control vans are clean and free of flammable materials.
  • Maintain padlocks and tags for lockout procedure.
  • Maintain all logbooks on a day-to-day basis and ensure proper recordkeeping.
  • Perform safety inspections and attend routine staff safety meetings.
  • Communicate and receive directions from team members.
  • Operate loader or other heavy equipment as needed.
  • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

  • GRIP – with at least 90 lbs. of force
  • CLIMBING – in, around, and on equipment
  • HEAVY LIFTING – of extremely awkward parts and equipment up to 90 lbs. from floor to waist
  • AWKWARD POSITIONS – getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground
  • FLEXIBILITY – awkward reaches
  • BALANCE – including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
  • VISION – 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions
  • HEARING – corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions from coworkers
