Core Duties


• Participate in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of compensation programs to support HHR strategies and business objectives. Lead the ongoing work in Job Framework implementation for remaining job functions; coordinating engagement and input from HR partners and line managers across the University.

• Assist schools and units in the development of compensation strategies, programs and other initiatives to ensure competitive position and internal equity. Proactively audit internal equity of job grade and compensation levels to ensure compliance

• Provide consultative and expert advice and training in the administration of the University's compensation programs including FLSA reviews

• Support the survey submission process by providing input and direction related to job function matching within areas of responsibility. Review HU job matches to surveys ongoing during submission process. Adapt changes in survey leveling, adds and deletes of jobs within the survey and within HU.

• Conduct market analyses in support of school and unit requests and/or related to cross university job function studies using external market data and internal comparative data; make recommendations for level and pay adjustments to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity. Continuous improvement of survey database usage by recommending updates to job matches including expansion to non-exempt roles and senior manager and leadership graded jobs. Reviews pay markets and recommends necessary changes.

• Participate in and/or lead department projects in support of ongoing and ad-hoc services to schools and units. Re-establish the Compensation Committee of HR partners across the university, develop topics and coordinate quarterly meetings.

• Develop and deliver training sessions for HR staff across the University in the area of compensation administration and related policies and practices.

• Ensure compliance with University Human Resources policies, procedures, and requirements. Review HHR Comp intranet content, solicit input, update policy and practice documents, links etc.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills
PeopleSoft experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of FLSA including a thorough understanding and experience in applying Massachusetts state and federal wage and hour regulations

Certificates and Licenses

CCP preferred

Working Conditions

This full-time exempt position has a (limited) hybrid schedule. The department has a regular on-campus day once per month for the team with additional ad hoc days on campus for meetings, trainings etc., as required and based on business need.
Work is performed in an office setting.
Harvard Human Resources actively supports hybrid work where business and team needs allow. This is a five day per week position with a hybrid schedule. Work Format Details

This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.
