Position Description

At a Glance:

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Operations Representative to join the team in West Hartford, CT. This position is remote however some days in office will be required throughout the year so must be within commuting distance to West Hartford, CT. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the HR team, employees, and managers in a wide variety of HR activities, including staffing, terminations, HR/Payroll System transactions, training and development and acquisition integration. Interfaces with HR staff on HR projects.

What Will You Do?

  • Receives inbound calls and online inquiries to process a variety of HR transactions including entering of new hires, job and personal changes, including entering and maintaining data in the HRIS and company organizational charts.
  • Provides support for staffing process by opening jobs in the on-line recruiting tool; assisting with reference checking, drug screening, and formal assessments; and preparing offer letters and new hire packets.
  • Obtains system access, office space, equipment and supplies, and other items needed by new hire on arrival.
  • Responds to newly hired employee questions. Monitors on-boarding process to ensure timely completion of all steps by new hire, HR, and manager.
  • Processes employee terminations, including termination checklist, return of equipment, cancelling of system and phone access, preparation of separation packages, and creation and processing of HR system change notices.
  • Creates queries, standard reports, and ad hoc reports to provide data for a variety of internal reporting requirements and HR projects and activities.
  • Contributes to a variety of projects and activities to support HR initiatives and employee development programs. This may include administering recognition programs, scheduling training sessions, maintaining employee data in talent management system, administering tuition reimbursement program, and managing gathering and organizing of data for employee surveys.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required, and contributes to strategic HR initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a HR shared services, HR call center or HR administration role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience with Human Resources processes and procedures.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional people skills and be able to interact with employees at all levels, as well as vendors and suppliers, in a professional and straightforward manner.
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communications skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.
  • Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
