Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Community Housing Advocates is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Support the HR Manager with Recruitment and Retention initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Prescreen all candidates as requested by Hiring Managers.
  • Partner with local colleges and universities for recruitment needs.
  • Attend local job fairs and CHA job fairs.
  • Assist with offboarding activities and paperwork.
  • Responsible for pre-employment background checks, reference checks, drug screens, TB testing, and ensures proper paperwork is completed by new hires.
  • Create offer letters for new hires.
  • Compile all new employee paperwork and prepare new hire packets for orientation.
  • Create or update job descriptions with hiring managers.
  • Reconcile monthly recruitment invoices.
  • Prepare payroll change letters for employees.
  • Schedule start dates and orientation dates with candidates and hiring managers. Work closely with IT and hiring managers on office set up.
  • Perform clerical functions and various projects in support of the HR Department.
  • Perform any other task that will assist the Organization in carrying out its mission, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years full cycle recruitment experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, with a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple workstreams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Tech savvy, Human Resource Information System experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions and responds to management direction in a timely manner.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and proof of current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.

Benefits:

  • $28.50 per hour, based on experience.
  • Community Housing Advocates provides a generous employee benefits package, including medical, dental, retirement, short- and long-term disability, and tuition reimbursement. Full-time employees receive 15 days of PTO (paid time off) per year, plus 12 paid holidays.
