The Opportunity:

Under moderate supervision, primarily responsible for documenting inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses and removal of items. Prepares inventory reports by collecting and analyzing information on stock usage. Maintains inventory operations by following policies and procedures and reports changes as needed.

In this role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Houston, TX

Shift: 7a -4p or 8a - 5p Monday–Friday

Hourly Rate: $22.00- $23.00/hr.

What we're looking for

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years scientific laboratory support experience is required.
  • Minimum 1 -2 years of face-to-face customer service experience required.
  • 2+ years of inventory management experience in the biopharmaceutical or related industry.
  • 1 year of experience operating stand-up or sit-down forklifts.
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems; experience with package tracking software is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy in managing inventory data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze inventory issues and implement practical solutions.

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee efficient material handling operations, managing high volumes to support production demands by receiving and dispatching pallets.
  • Execute daily picking tasks and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely product distribution.
  • Utilize SAP for order processing to uphold accurate inventory levels and operational efficiency.
  • Engage directly with customers to coordinate deliveries and discuss product availability, fostering strong relationships.
  • Handle inquiries and follow-ups promptly via email, ensuring resolutions align with customer expectations.
  • Provide backup support for shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely processing and notification using package tracking software.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and participate in audits to meet regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products, conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
