Job Overview

LMI Consulting, LLC is in search of a Academic Program Coordinator to enhance NASA's High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) initiative. We are looking for a proactive individual who will engage in the planning, coordination, and execution of the HAS initiative. This position involves crafting and executing recruitment strategies, overseeing program communications, and facilitating both virtual and in-person educational experiences. The coordinator will collaborate closely with NASA personnel, educators, and students to guarantee a cohesive and impactful learning journey that aligns with NASA's educational goals.

This role offers the flexibility of partial remote work while requiring occasional travel to client locations as necessary.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a detailed work plan and execution timeline for the HAS initiative, ensuring it aligns with NASA's educational goals.
  • Collaborate with NASA activity managers, OSTEM, and other pertinent offices to support program objectives.
  • Design and implement a communication and recruitment strategy to engage students and educators throughout the state.
  • Manage program communications, addressing inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Revise and enhance educational materials, graphics, and websites for online courses.
  • Create and deliver training materials and sessions for students, educators, subject matter experts, and mentors.
  • Recruit student and faculty participants, ensuring faculty are certified educators, and develop promotional materials for statewide recruitment efforts.
  • Oversee the recruitment and engagement of Technical Reviewers, Design Challenge Facilitators, Game Moderators, and Onsite Counselors.
  • Implement and manage a student retention incentive program to encourage ongoing participation.
  • Conduct online information sessions and distribute promotional materials at large-scale events and through digital channels.
  • Manage the application process utilizing the NASA STEM Gateway, including monitoring applications and sending offers.
  • Design and facilitate both virtual and onsite engagement experiences, coordinating logistics for student transportation, accommodations, and activities.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program coordination or administration, preferably within an educational or STEM-focused organization.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a proven history of successfully implementing educational initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and online educational tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for recruitment and program activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, STEM, or a related field.
  • Experience collaborating with NASA or other aerospace-related organizations.
  • Knowledge of gamification techniques and their application in educational contexts.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs for educators and students.
  • Familiarity with educational standards and certification requirements for educators in Texas.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing large-scale recruitment and communication strategies.
  • Experience in coordinating virtual and in-person educational events and activities.
