Zurich is looking for a highly skilled Senior Design/Construction Management Consulting Specialist within Risk Engineering and our Zurich Resilience Solutions Team. In this role, this consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day relationships with client companies and their teams.

This advanced senior design/construction management consultant will be responsible for driving revenue byleveraging existing customer relationships (e.g., with project owners, developers, engineers, architects, and general contractors) into consulting services revenue for Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS).

This position will also be responsible for providing design and/or construction management consulting services (can range from project concept to final delivery stage) to customers.

In addition, the ideal candidate will support strategies for sales and distribution opportunities within the organization, analyzing market trends, making and/or supporting recommendations and help grow the Construction Business Unit consulting business that will help exceed revenue goals, hit profitability targets and grow our market share.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to engage at a high level, collaborate and build relationships with executive internal and external stakeholders and uncover new sales opportunities in specific verticals.

This position can be located in/near one of our major Zurich offices, but must have access to a major airport hub. The position includes a company car, with expected overnight travel of 25% depending on business needs

In addition, the Senior Design/Construction Management Consultant will:

  • Manage the overall business relationship with key customers in order to drive new business and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive retention and business development by identifying strategic opportunities or issues and taking the necessary actions.
  • Oversee end to end processes to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Work closely with customers to gather feedback on challenges and opportunities with individual agencies/customers, identify systemic issues and opportunities, initiate action plans to drive retention and business development.
  • Working collaboratively with clients to identify and delineate the consulting scope and fee, goals and desired outcomes.
  • Preparing technical reports (inclusive of written analysis, drawings, illustrations, calculations, etc.) to deliver consulting recommendations.
  • Providing periodic support to Underwriting when requests for any of the above noted consulting is desired from Zurich's prospect/existing customer base.
  • Providing periodic support to the Claims Department with technical assessment of complex claims (including but not limited to) Construction Professional Liability, Builders Risk, and General liability / Construction Defect policies.
  • Developing and maintaining positive business partner, broker and customer relationships
  • Build and maintain close relationships with key leaders at customers and prospects to manage and (where applicable) negotiate terms of business.

Basic Qualifications


• Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience inConstruction Management/Project Management consultingarea

OR


• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience inConstruction Management / Project Management consultingarea

AND


• Knowledge ofEngineering Designprograms and solutions


• Experience withEngineering Designregulatory environment and monitoring regulatory changes

Preferred Qualifications


• Experience in renewable energy projects and/or sustainable building products (such as Mass Timber) is a bonus.


• Knowledge of Construction Specialty insurance products: Construction Property, Builders Risk, Professional Liability, and General Liability


• 15 or more years of combined experience in Engineering Design consulting and Construction Management / Project Management consulting


• Advanced Technical Writing skills


• Strong verbal, written and listening skills


• Advanced Analytical ability


• Organizational skills


• Strong ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders


• Professional certifications: SE, PE, LEED AP, PMP


• Strong presentation development skills
