Position: Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field and laboratory assessments of diverse construction materials such as soil, asphalt, aggregate, concrete, mortar, and grout.
  • Oversee job site inspections to ensure proper placement of reinforcing steel.
  • Execute construction materials evaluations in alignment with project specifications.
  • Analyze plans and specifications for upcoming projects.
  • Support project management tasks as directed, including service coordination, staffing, and client interactions.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Calibrate and maintain both field and laboratory testing equipment.
  • Perform regular site visits for inspections.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  • Utilize various testing instruments effectively.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting of results upon arrival at job sites.
  • Maintain daily communication with supervisors and colleagues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, testing protocols, and project specifications.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Mathematical aptitude for accurate calculation of test results.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Reasoning ability to apply sound judgment in following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Physical capability to lift and/or move 75 pounds or more, and work in varying weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
  • Willingness to travel as required by project demands.
  • Availability for overtime, weekends, and non-standard hours.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; ability to read and write in English.
