Position Overview

CivicMinds, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a robust background in road construction. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Management: Foster and maintain effective working relationships with general contractors, municipalities, and engineering firms to facilitate project execution.
  • Project Oversight: Provide direction and support to project managers and field staff, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Construction Planning: Collaborate with superintendents and foremen to organize and direct construction activities efficiently.
  • Objective Setting: Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and contract specifications.
  • Monitoring and Control: Supervise project progress through administrative oversight, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify potential challenges and implement corrective actions to meet project requirements.
  • Financial Management: Work alongside contract administrators to manage financial aspects of contracts, safeguarding company interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Procurement: Source and acquire necessary supplies and materials for project completion.
  • Communication: Clearly interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients.
  • Reporting: Regularly update job reports, detailing work progress, costs, and scheduling changes.
  • Staff Assignment: Coordinate with field staff to allocate workers to specific construction sites.
  • Subcontractor Relations: Develop and maintain proactive relationships with subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years in construction management or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge in asphalt, earthmoving, and concrete.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead project managers effectively.
  • Strong pre-construction monitoring skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of punctuality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Professional demeanor in appearance and communication.
