Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the direction and development of paralegal and administrative activities for a program similar to the Army National Guard Trial Defense Services; discussing defense services resource availability; making decisions on work problems presented by subordinates; administering policies and procedures for administrative and military justice matters that may impact military operations; administering a records management system for legal records; coordinating travel which includes legal and travel briefs; assisting attorneys in maintaining military personnel, professional, privileged legal representation; preparing charts, briefings, and/or reports where data has been collected to identify relevant information for legal proceedings.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

The following course and time requirements apply to this position: The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position. The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all supervisors and managers hired after 30 September 2006. The Basic Course (BC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position. The Intermediate Course (IC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. The Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. Mandatory Training Requirement - If the selectee has not completed a federal civilian supervisory development course within the past three years, he/she must complete the Army Civilian Supervisory Development Course within one year of appointment.
