Position Overview

At Alamo Drafthouse, we are dedicated to providing every GUEST with an UNFORGETTABLE experience that keeps them coming back. Our culinary service specialists play a crucial role in delivering a seamless full-service experience for our patrons. This team acts as a vital link between the guest experience in the front of the house and the operations behind the scenes. Like stealthy ninjas in a dimly lit theater, they ensure that the food is presented as beautifully as envisioned by the Chef and is served at the perfect moment—directly to our guests' tables without drawing attention.

As a member of our culinary service team, you will take pride in delivering outstanding guest service while helping maintain a distraction-free and thrilling movie-watching atmosphere. A successful culinary service specialist will alleviate stress and miscommunication by effectively relaying information between kitchen staff and servers. They are the final checkpoint for all food and beverages, ensuring that everything meets our high standards before reaching our guests. During and between screenings, the team is responsible for upholding a clean and inviting theater environment. Although each day presents its own challenges, we foster a culture of teamwork, encourage a lively work atmosphere, and share a collective goal of creating memorable experiences for our guests.

  • Move with agility. Assist our guests in enjoying their movie by gracefully navigating the darkened theater to deliver food orders—acting as a silent guardian. If any guest becomes disruptive, notify a manager for resolution.
  • Collaborate with a team. A tidy environment is welcoming, and we want our guests to feel at home while visiting our venue. You will be responsible for preparing the theaters for guests, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing service areas.
  • Be proactive and eager to learn. Arrive on time and ready to work, ensuring timely delivery of food to our guests, and be open to learning new responsibilities to advance your career.

Key Attributes for Success:

  • You are agile and capable of standing or walking for the entirety of your shift. Some locations may have stairs, and you should be comfortable navigating them frequently throughout your shift.
  • You are reliable: punctual, a team player, and willing to work long hours, often on weekends.
  • Customer service is your priority, and you proactively identify and resolve issues swiftly.
  • You are open to learning and adhering to all relevant health and alcohol compliance regulations (including obtaining necessary licenses/certifications when applicable).
  • Teamwork comes naturally to you, and you can communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Fast-paced environments, taking initiative, flexibility, and high-pressure situations are challenges that motivate you to adapt and grow.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This role operates in a restaurant/kitchen environment. The noise level can be loud, and potential hazards include cuts, burns, slips, trips, and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Frequent exposure to steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold is expected. You may also have regular contact with water, sanitation solutions, and various food products. The position requires physical activity, including sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions are essential.
