Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a Personnel Security Specialist to enhance the security framework supporting military intelligence initiatives.

Work Environment: This position necessitates on-site engagement at a designated military facility, with opportunities for remote work as directed by supervisory personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily management of the Personnel and Information Security program, ensuring compliance for military and civilian personnel.
  • Handle Visit Authorization Requests (VAR) and security clearance verifications through established security systems.
  • Process access requests for Army system networks and manage in-processing and out-processing procedures.
  • Evaluate the eligibility of candidates requiring security clearances.
  • Oversee background investigation processes and notify personnel of required periodic investigations.
  • Assess security clearance needs for personnel, particularly for Top Secret upgrades.
  • Utilize various security management tools and databases effectively.
  • Complete necessary training for access to security management systems.
  • Stay updated with Army and DOD security policies, providing recommendations for standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain confidential security documentation for personnel.
  • Review building access applications and coordinate security training compliance.
  • Support annual security training initiatives and document security processes.
  • Assist in preparation for security inspections, ensuring all required documentation is in order.
  • Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree with six years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with four years of experience.

Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance, with the capability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of two years' experience with the Defense Information Security System (DISS).
  • Familiarity with Army Regulation 380-67 and DoD Manual regarding Personnel Security Programs.
  • Experience with Intelligence Security Directive 704 related to personnel security standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
