About the Unit

The YaraVita Applications Specialist supports the regional commercial teams with a strong focus on field activity to develop our coatings portfolio through the extensive knowledge of application methods and suitable equipment. Through alignment with the YaraVita Product manager and the regional teams, the YaraVita Application Specialist ensures our dealer customers are properly equipped, enabled & engaged with the product line ultimately to meet or exceed sales plans. The candidate must be located within the applicable region and will report to the Director Premium Products.

This position will support various regions across the U.S. but will ideally be based in the Midwest or Central Eastern regions of the U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the success of our customers using YaraVita products requiring application / equipment assistance.
  • Provide technical applications support to the assigned regions on YaraVita product line primarily focused on the retail to ensure they have the appropriate equipment and knowledge for success with our products. This includes, but not limited to the following: surveying their technical requirements, establishing the right equipment and conceptual budget, equipment setup, initial operational support and ongoing support to maintain & grow their business. Engagement by the retail operator is key to your role & Yara's success.
  • Provide leadership in the launch of new Premium Offerings that require technical applications assistance.
  • Be a resource to customers and Regional Sales Managers for technical questions related to the use of Yara's products including but not limited to: equipment, regular maintenance and practices to equipment, application methods & issues, impregnation, tank mix concerns used in relation to Yara's products. In order to properly resolve, troubleshooting and field visits are a possibility.
  • Develop and disseminate quick reference guides for installation and proper ongoing maintenance of coating equipment.
  • Be relationship focused with Yara's key sales team, select distributors, equipment manufacturers, and (if required) grower level interactions.
  • Provide application training and demonstrations to sales and marketing, retailer, dealer and farmers as needed.
  • Work and align within the regional sales team to participate in the selling process cycle that includes supporting the creation of the annual business plan, check-ins with dealer customers at the operational level to gauge interest and work to build demand. Alignment and communication within the team is key (RSM, SA, YVPS).
  • Bring innovative ideas to the organization to save costs for Yara & our customers and work to help differentiate Yara in the market as we grow.
  • Fully comply with all of Yara's Company Policies, as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. Honor Yara's Safe by choice culture.

Profile
  • 5 years working experience in similar roles and industries (technical or applications based), including equipment industry.
  • Practical technical education.
  • Desire to grow & develop within the organization.
  • Added value fertilizers exposure is a bonus.
  • Strong business orientation.
  • Strong applications and equipment knowledge.
  • Knowledge of fertilizer.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal & customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and manage dynamic seasonal pressures.
  • Proficient in MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as digital tools (such as Twitter).

Additional Information

The position holder must:

  • Hold valid driver ́s license.
  • Drive safely to necessary appointments (short or long distances).
  • Physical requirements such as bending, reaching, lifting, climbing is part of the function (i.e. handling product jugs, moving applicator equipment, inspecting fertilizer blenders). All within the framework of safety.
  • Be available for extensive travel across various regions in the U.S. (up to 80%).
  • Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
