SUMMARY

Responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing complex project-level activities for the Employee Benefits' division Public Entity Programs. Ensures overall project objectives are clearly defined, the project is forecasted, and objective delivery performance meets internal and external customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Responsible for establishing specific timelines, action items, and deliverables of Program strategic initiatives.


• Supports Program Leadership with team cadence and progress reports on initiatives.


• Establishes implementation and communication plans on strategic initiatives and key projects.


• Responsible for leading the coordination and completion of multiple small to large projects.


• Acts as central point person for assigned projects and keeps sponsors, stakeholders, business partners, and project team members informed on matters, including progress to plan, key milestones, integration efforts/needs across the program, and/or project, risks, issues, etc.


• Ensures project team members are clear on their assignments and remain focused on objectives line-of-sight.


• Leads and performs project objective related research and presents recommendations to leadership.


• Actively identifies multiple object approach options and presents them to project sponsor/leadership.


• Establishes goals and implements action plans for achieving set objectives.


• Creates and manages project implementation plans, which includes but is not limited to, deliverables and milestones.


• Coordinates and creates business and functional requirement documents required to achieve desired objectives.


• Develops internal communication strategies useful in ensuring clear communication between various departments of the organization.


• Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.


• Provides the project team and client with clear communications.


• Prepares and leads project team status meetings, promoting a collaborative environment while recording meeting discussions, decisions and actions.


• Proactively identifies project risks.


• Creates project controls, such as action item lists, risk logs, issues logs, change control and decision logs.


• Escalates risks, issues, and changes that will impact the desired objectives or schedule.


• Leads integration and impact analysis of objective introduction into operations.


• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).


• Perform all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Five (5) or more years experience managing complex projects

Four (4) or more years Employee Benefits Industry experience

Experience with System and Data Delivery projects

Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodology

Portfolio Management Professional (PMP)

Valid Insurance License

SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Good understanding of systems architecture and data

Excellent business requirements identification and articulation skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Time management skills including the ability to work independently

Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills

Good problem solving and time management skills including the ability to work independently

Excellent presentation preparation and effective/efficient delivery

Ability to be open to constructive feedback and alternate thoughts/ideas

Ability to coach and consult project team members

Ability to work within team and promote teamwork

Ability to prioritize time/ work for multiple projects, deadlines and owners
