Job Overview

AZTEC Engineering Group is actively seeking experienced and driven Civil Engineering professionals to enhance our Rail and Transit division. We are looking for a dedicated individual to take on the role of Senior Project Manager, overseeing significant projects across North America, including high-speed rail, metro systems, light rail, streetcars, and bus rapid transit initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all phases of multi-disciplinary planning, preliminary engineering, and final design projects.
  • Provide technical leadership in rail-related projects, ensuring effective coordination and execution.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while leading marketing, contractual, design, and production efforts.
  • Engage with federal, state, and local government representatives for project collaboration.
  • Ensure project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
  • Drive business development through proposal writing, networking, and client engagement.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively coordinate meetings and presentations.
  • Support international projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California and eligibility for additional state licenses.
  • At least 15 years of experience in rail and transit project management, with a minimum of five years in North America.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. railway regulations and standards.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and international infrastructure projects is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain insurability.
