Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and direct all phases of commercial construction projects, with a primary focus on tenant improvements and ground-up builds.
  • Schedule and Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and update comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure efficient use of time and materials.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align project objectives with client expectations.
  • Contract Management: Interpret and evaluate blueprints, plans, and technical drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Negotiation and Risk Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, optimizing costs and securing favorable terms.
  • Compliance and Safety: Enforce compliance with all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and building codes.
  • Project Monitoring and Control: Continuously monitor project milestones and adjust plans proactively to maintain timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and deliver detailed project reports, status updates, and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve project-related challenges and conflicts promptly, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, specifically in commercial construction and tenant improvements.
  • Expertise: Proven expertise in navigating and applying California State building codes and construction regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and the MS Office Suite.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and drive project success.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure environments and under tight deadlines.
  • Tenant Improvement Experience: Extensive experience in successfully managing complex tenant improvement projects in commercial settings.
