The Controller is responsible for the oversight of accounting operations and financial reporting for Optica and the Optica Foundation in accordance with GAAP standards, applicable rules, and regulations. This includes Annual budget and analysis, cash management, and internal control responsibilities. The individual manages staff members with responsibility for general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and taxes. The Controller ensures that Optica has the proper processes, procedures and policies in place to support effective program implementation.

The successful applicant will have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, a MBA is preferred and they will have their CPA. They should have ten to fifteen years of progressive experience in finance and accounting with management experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and to explain financial and accounting terms to non-accountants, and experience in effectively communicating data, including presentations to senior management and the Board. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with ERP system, Dynamics SL and Management Reporter preferred. Experience with Solver BI360 and Tableau is a plus. Experience in grants management and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants to funders and required external reporting. Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills for insightful data interpretation versus simple reporting.
