Control Technician 2

The Control Technician 2 role encompasses the assembly of control panels, on-site installation, and the development of commissioning protocols related to control systems and field instrumentation. This position also involves troubleshooting, calibrating field devices, conducting tests and analyses, maintaining documentation, and revising schematics. Additional responsibilities include mentoring new staff, adhering to company protocols, and achieving quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and execute both verbal and written assembly instructions
  • Conduct sheet metal fabrication, wiring, painting, and welding tasks
  • Deliver training sessions for new team members
  • Manage inventory of materials and tools
  • Ensure project completion aligns with timelines and quality benchmarks
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a workshop environment and 1 year in electrical roles
  • High School diploma or equivalent certification
Required Certifications:
  • Achieve CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of employment
  • Successfully complete background checks and drug screenings
Relevant Work Experience:
  • Familiarity with control circuits, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Capability to construct control panels and select appropriate control components
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems
  • Proficiency in wiring installations for PLCs, VFDs, and other control devices
  • Utilization of various testing instruments and meters
  • Understanding of industrial automation and control strategies
Tools and Equipment:
  • Various power tools, drills, and saws
  • Punch sets, Fluke meters, oscilloscopes, and laptops
Physical Abilities:
  • Capacity to lift heavy items
  • Ability to work at heights and in diverse physical positions
  • Good vision and effective communication skills
  • Application of general rules and problem-solving techniques
