Control Technician 2

The Control Technician 2 role encompasses the design and assembly of control panels, along with the installation and commissioning of associated field instrumentation. This position requires expertise in troubleshooting, calibrating field instruments, conducting equipment tests, and performing analyses. Additionally, documentation and updating of schematics are essential responsibilities. The technician will also provide mentorship to new hires, adhere to company protocols, and strive to meet quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and execute both verbal and written assembly instructions
  • Engage in sheet metal fabrication, wiring, painting, and welding tasks
  • Deliver training sessions for new team members
  • Manage inventory of materials and tools, including ordering and storage
  • Ensure timely completion of work while adhering to quality benchmarks
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a workshop environment and 1 year in electrical roles
  • Completion of High School or possession of a GED
Required Certifications:
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of employment
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screening
Relevant Work Experience:
  • Familiarity with control circuits, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Capability to fabricate control panels and select appropriate control components
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems
  • Proficient in installing wiring for PLCs, VFDs, and other control devices
  • Skilled in using various testing equipment and meters
  • Understanding of industrial automation and control strategies
Tools Utilized:
  • Proficient with power tools, drills, and saws
  • Experience with punch sets, Fluke meters, oscilloscopes, and laptops
Physical Abilities:
  • Capability to lift heavy items
  • Ability to work at heights and in diverse physical positions
  • Good vision and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and application of general rules
