The Associate Commissioner of Compliance & Student-athlete Development is responsible for overseeing all aspects of NCAA compliance, Conference governance, and student-athlete development. This position ensures adherence to NCAA legislation, manages Conference bylaws, and promotes the health, wellness, and academic success of student-athletes. Key responsibilities include: NCAA Compliance: Serve as the Conference's primary contact for all NCAA compliance-related inquiries and issues. Assist member schools in understanding and interpreting NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Monitor and communicate NCAA legislative trends and changes to Conference administrators. Provide ongoing rules education and materials to member institutions on NCAA compliance and Conference governance. Ensure all Conference Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activities are compliant with NCAA regulations. Serve as the primary liaison to the Conference's Compliance & Sportsmanship Committee and the compliance administrators. Serve as the contact for NCAA and Conference rules violations. Process NCAA and Conference waivers. Conduct regular compliance reviews on member campuses to ensure adherence to NCAA standards. Ensure member schools have satisfied all NCAA and Conference attestations. Serve as the primary liaison to the Conference's contracted monitoring service. Conference Governance: Serve as the primary liaison for Conference governance issues. Manage and interpret Conference bylaws. Coordinate with member institutions to ensure consistent application of Conference policies and procedures. Oversee the administration of the Conference's NCAA committee appointments. Oversee and update the Conference's policies and procedures manual and related documents. Student-Athlete Development: Serve as the primary liaison to the MAAC Student-athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Responsible for facilitating SAAC meetings and assisting with the implementation of initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison to the Conference's Health & Wellness Committee and the athletic trainers. Serve as the primary liaison to the Conference's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs) and academic administrators. Organize and conduct annual Conference events, promoting excellence in academics, health and wellness and personal development among student-athletes. Coordinate the Conference's annual Student-athlete academic awards. Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the Commissioner and Conference leadership on strategic planning and policy development related to compliance and student-athlete development. Plan and coordinate meetings with the Compliance & Sportsmanship Committee, compliance administrators, FARs, academic administrators, SAAC, Health & Wellness Committee and athletic trainers. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities. Represent the Conference at NCAA and other professional meetings and events as needed. Assist with Conference and NCAA championship administration. Perform other duties, including Commissioner delegated projects and championship support, as assigned. Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Commissioner. Supervises the Director of Sport Administration and Compliance. Benefits: Comprehensive no cost medical insurance for employee. Monthly cell phone reimbursement. Working Conditions: This position is based at the Conference Office. This position requires the ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, weekends, nights and holidays.   • Comprehensive knowledge of Division I intercollegiate athletics, NCAA rules, regulations, and governance structures.
  • Experience with assisting coaches and administrators with understanding and interpreting NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
  • Experience in student-athlete development, wellness and academic programming.
