Our Financial Services division caters to a diverse clientele across asset management, capital markets, financial institutions, specialty finance, and insurance sectors. Within this specific team, you will engage with clients in the asset management field, particularly focusing on private equity funds, hedge funds, and/or fund of funds clients, leveraging advanced technology and national resources. Our focus is on tax compliance and consulting for some of the most intricate and renowned funds in the industry.
As a Taxation Manager, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities centered around three fundamental principles: Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of complex tax returns for Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and/or Fund of Funds partnerships. Act as a Career Advisor by training, developing, mentoring, and coaching one or more team members, providing timely and constructive performance feedback. Address multiple complex issues and communicate effectively in a non-technical manner to bridge the gap between clients and the service team, while managing risks for both parties. Serve as the primary Tax client service coordinator for designated clients. Provide advisory services to clients across the full spectrum of RSM's tax offerings, including planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and acquisitions activities. Review research findings to ensure that conclusions align with firm policies and professional standards. Assist in new business development, offering extended services and identifying tax issues for existing clients. Collaborate with cross-functional engagement teams across the tax practice to address client needs (e.g., state & local tax, international tax, tax technology, tax mergers & acquisitions, etc.). Stay informed about current tax practices and legislative changes affecting tax law.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. Over 5 years of experience in business taxation, preferably with a Big 4 firm or a large national, regional, or local accounting firm; or equivalent experience in industry or law. Active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA certification. Prior experience in tax compliance and consulting for Asset Management clients. Proficient understanding of tax codes and the technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance. Ability to collaborate closely with clients to address inquiries or gather necessary information for tax services. Proven experience managing client engagements from inception to completion.Preferred Qualifications:

At RSM, compensation reflects an employee's experience, performance, and skills. The salary range for this role considers various factors, including education, skills, work experience, and certifications.
Selected candidates will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on both firm and individual performance.
