Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and enhance products, shades, and processes under guidance.
  • Manage product development projects within the lip cosmetics category.
  • Utilize standard formulation technologies to create new products and provide technical support for formula optimization.
  • Source new raw materials and ensure compliance with safety and technical documentation.
  • Oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct necessary performance and stability tests, analyze data, and report findings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all processes.
  • Interpret third-party testing criteria to evaluate product success against company standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Safety, Regulatory, Consumer, QA, and Marketing as needed.
  • Evaluate competitive products and document insights as necessary.
  • Address routine customer and production challenges.
  • Represent the Research and Development team in project status discussions.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and a thorough understanding of the R&D development timeline.
  • Perform quality control, experimental, developmental, and analytical tests on finished products.
  • Assist senior laboratory personnel as required.
  • Exhibit forward-thinking strategies to navigate tight project timelines.
  • Be open to travel to support production as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.

Experience:

  • 0-3 years in a relevant role.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective problem resolution.
  • Innovative thinking to conceptualize and implement solutions.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating and addressing technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Understanding of cosmetic science principles.
  • Experience with anhydrous formulations and emulsion technology.
  • Proficient in operating laboratory equipment such as mixers, viscometers, and pH meters.
  • Ability to establish product specifications and procedures.
  • Knowledge of global regulations regarding ingredient and colorant restrictions.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Accountability and ownership in driving projects to completion.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
